Every other control moves the whole ride. This one doesn’t. Tap the line between two pins and that stretch is yours alone: roll it again, make it longer, give it its own riding style, while every other mile comes back exactly as it was.

Here, one point added mid-route sends the ride the other side of the ridge: twelve minutes more, seventy percent different roads.

New: Twisty rides with you. Turn by turn, spoken aloud, following the exact line you drew. Nothing to hand off, no second app to open, and no route quietly straightened out on the way. It is in beta, it is part of Premium, and the first month is free.

It navigates the ride you planned. It is not trying to be the app that takes you to work on a Tuesday: no traffic, no lane guidance, and it needs Twisty open on screen.

Prefer your own setup? That stays free. Export a GPX and the route transfers corner for corner to BMW Motorrad, OsmAnd, Scenic and Garmin, or send it to Google Maps or Apple Maps.

Being straight with you: Google and Apple re-route between the pins their own fast way, so they straighten some of the curvy bits. GPX carries the whole track and rides exactly. We say so in the app, too.

What Twisty isn’t

Not your everyday navigator.
Twisty navigates now, but only ever along the ride you planned with it. There is no “take me to the nearest pharmacy”, no traffic, no lane guidance. For getting to work on Tuesday, the app already on your home screen is better and always will be.
Not a replacement. A supplement.
It sits alongside the tools you have. That’s the feature: Twisty never has to be mediocre at ten things to be good at one.
Not a speed app.
Speed data stays private by default and is stripped from anything you share. We’re not building a leaderboard for public roads.

I was nine the first time I sat on a motorcycle: my grandfather’s Tomos, on the dirt road by the house. After that I took it out whenever I thought I could get away with it. At twelve it was my uncle’s bigger bike, in the mountains of Serbia, and for years the best part of every summer was getting on it and just going. Gas, dirt, mountains.

Much later I went looking for an app that would let me think of a ride and then go and ride it: fast, twisty, or just poking around the backroads near home. I tried all of them. Not one of them did that. So I made Twisty.

These days I’m a senior cyber security engineer, and I ride Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Twisty is built simple on purpose, and I’m not finished with it: I want it to become the place riders plan and keep their rides, and before long, plan them together.

Two wheels or four. I built it for both. Write in and it reaches me.
